DD05 Learning Experience Design for Team-Based Creative Problem Solving on Social Issues

This session is filled with hands-on activities, and practical materials and tips for teachers and instructors. This session isl for teachers and instructors who plan to design a team-based Creative Problem Solving challenge on social issues. To design a Creative Problem Solving challenge with a real problem, instructors should consider the learning goals of the class including team building, teamwork, Creative Problem Solving process and methods, reflection on learning, and evaluation. These  learning components should be considered and integrated.

This session will provide a guide for instructors to integrate related components to improve Creative Problem Solving skills including problem solving process and skills, teamwork, communication, reflection, and evaluation. The learning experience design principle of this session would be applied to the regular curriculum and extra-curriculum.

What? What will participants learn or experience as a result of this program or session?
  1. Know how to design learning experiences for the creative problem solving with integrated elements for enhancing global citizenship
  2. Learn how to design and develop curriculum (10-15 weeks) of team-based creative problem solving with integration of six essential components including global citizenship, team based learning, creative problem solving, social communication, reflection and evaluation

  1. Share cases which have been applied to the class, and to practice the actual instructional strategies and methods in which the design principles applied
  2. Attendees will be able to design, develop, and manage your class of team-based, creative problem solving on social issues in order to enhance global citizenship
